Google Pixel 5 has demonstrated its commitment to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) to propose a next-generation flagship phone from the search giant. The new development comes days after a presentation demonstrating the alleged online Pixel 5 XL design. Google Pixel 5 may be in preparation as a successor to Pixel 4, while Pixel 5 XL may come as a large screen version of the new Pixel phone - just as we saw in the original Pixel and Pixel 2 series for smartphones.
The developer testing a new change in AOSP code mentioned that the update was only tested on Pixel 4 but not on Google Pixel 5. The description that the developer provides when compatibility also indicates that the kernel version 4.19 is on Pixel 5. The Linux kernel version is usually set to Android devices by Qualcomm.
"Purge limits in Arc / arm64 / kernel / cpufeature.c make the image unbootable for Pixel 4 in 4.14 kernel. I had no opportunity to test it on Pixel 5 with 4.19, and UBSan is now disabled there to ensure playback," read the description provided on AOSP.
Looking at the latest reports, Google appears to have two new brands in companies like Redfin and Bramble. These can be associated with Pixel 5 and Pixel 5 XL.
According to a tweet posted by Meshaal Al Rahman from XDA developers in November last year, a Pixel phone called Bramble discovered the Linux kernel 4.19 version running. This revelation also suggested the development of Pixel 5.
Having said that, Google has not yet announced any details about the Pixel 5 and Pixel 5 XL. We saw an early overview of the Pixel 5 XL.
Google has a record of launching Pixel series phones in October and November. Therefore, we may wait some time to see the next generation Pixel phones.
Along with Pixel 5 and Pixel 5 XL, Google is expected to get Pixel 4a in plans that may debut in May - from Google I / O 2020 starting May 12.
